Dr. Mª Cristina Nuño Rodríguez has joined the HC Cancer Center team as a specialist in radiation oncology.
She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Salamanca, and completed her doctorate courses at the same institution with the recognition of research proficiency. She later specialised in radiation oncology at the Fundación Jiménez Díaz Hospital (Madrid).
She completed her Master’s Degree in Pain Management at the University of Salamanca and her Expert in Prostate Cancer at the Francisco de Vitoria University.
Dr Cristina Nuño has been a lecturer in a university extension course in operators of radioactive facilities, with specialisation in radiotherapy at the University of Malaga since 2016.
She is a regular collaborator of the AECC (Spanish Association Against Cancer) in events for the early detection and prevention of cancer and has published articles of scientific interest in national and international congresses.
She is an active member of the Spanish Society of Radiation Oncology (SEOR), the Spanish Society of Radiosurgery (SER) and the Andalusian Society of Cancerology (SAC), as well as of the SEOR working groups: URONCOR, NEURONCOR and SBRT.
Before joining the HC team, Dr Nuño worked at the Oncology Institute of the Vithas Xanit International Hospital, where she was responsible for the tumour committee of the centre for 14 years. In 2019, the unit became part of the Genesis Care group, where she was coordinator of the sarcoma and lymphoma unit.
She has worked as an assistant specialist in Radiation Oncology at the Infanta Cristina Hospital in Badajoz, at the Radón Clinic in Algeciras, at the Torrecárdenas Hospital in Almería and at the CROASA Clinic in Málaga.
