Radiotherapy, along with surgery and chemotherapy, is one of the 3 pillars for the treatment of oncological processes.
It is estimated that around 60% of cancer patients will receive radiotherapy treatment at some stage of the process, a figure that has been increasing over the last few years.
The aim of radiotherapy is to attack the tumour cells and cause their death in order to eliminate the tumour, while preserving, as far as possible, the surrounding healthy tissue.
