Our radiology technician will accompany you to perform a Computed Tomography (CAT scan) of the thorax, of the last generation and a low dosage of radiation. A diagnostic imaging technique that identifies lung problems and diseases, even before they have caused any symptoms, with greater sensitivity than a thoracic x-ray.
Before the abdominal x-ray is done (an imaging test done through ultrasound, useful for detecting mutations in the internal abdominal organs, especially the gallbladder, bilious tract, liver, and kidneys). This test is also recommended for screening for possible abdominal aortic aneurysm (dilation of the aorta), especially in men 65 year or older.
Spirometry is the study of the volume and air flow of the lungs and allows objective, simple, fast, and safe evaluation of the correct function of the lung and the bronchial tubes. It is especially useful in subjects who are smokers or have been smokers in the past.
Simple and quick, this test registers the electrical activity of the heart (rhythm and regularity of the heartbeats) and the size and position of the atriums and ventricles without disturbing them.
The specialist will carry out a specific study depending on if the patient is a man or a woman.
Man
▪ Urologic and prostate evaluation
▪ Flow rate measuring
▪ Prostate ultrasound
▪ PSA (men who are 40 years or older)
Women
▪ Gynecological exam and review
▪ Vaginal ultrasound
▪ Colposcopy y and pap smear exam
▪ Mammary ultrasound (women younger than 40 years of age)
▪ Mammogram (women older than 40 years of age)
The Internal Medicine or Family Medicine specialist elaborates on, explains, and delivers the clinical report with all of the results from the tests.
NOTE: If need be, after the check-up and the report are considered, additional consultations will be scheduled. The coordinating doctor of the check-up will also inform the patient of which specialists they need to visit for their disease.
