When you come to our hospital for a consultation, outpatient visit, treatment, surgery or hospital admission, please follow the instructions outlined below, this will ensure that everything runs as smoothly and comfortably as possible.

To ensure that your visit is as successful as possible:

Arrive at the centre on time. Your appointment will have been confirmed on the previous working day.
2
Please proceed to the appropriate reception desk, if in doubt go to the main reception.
3
The patient services staff will register you; you must present an identification document (ID card or passport) for verification each time you visit.
4
If you have blood analysis or other test results, or previous reports which are related to your appointment, please bring them with you.
5
If you have a health insurance card with coverage in our centre for the speciality you have an appointment with, please bring it with you.

Each patient is unique, each cancer is different, so it is essential for us to study your case prior to your first appointment. When you attend your appointment, the oncologist will therefore already know your history and be able to focus on your case more accurately.

The oncology patient care coordinator will inform you of what is necessary in relation to your visit when you first confirm your appointment by phone.

On the day of your appointment, if you hold the necessary information, please bring it with you:

  1. Recent reports.
  2. Pathology histology report.
  3. Latest blood test results.
  4. Latest diagnostic imaging results.

Please arrive on time and go to oncology reception.

You must present an identification document (ID card or passport), for verification each time you attend an appointment.

If you have a health insurance card with coverage in our centre for the speciality you have an appointment with, please bring it with you.

For your investigation to be performed appropriately:

The medical referral for the test is essential. Normally, you will have had to submit this at the time of requesting the appointment. If you do not have a referral, we can make an appointment with a specialist, who will assess you and request the investigation, if appropriate for your case.

If you have health insurance which covers you in our centre, you must provide the referral from the company and, if necessary, provide the processed authorisation for the test from your insurer.

If a test so requires, you will be informed in advance of any necessary preparation/fasting, and of whether you need to request authorisation from your company, or if it is necessary to provide any reports, blood analysis or previous tests, etc.

Please arrive at the centre 15 minutes before your appointment time. Your appointment will have been confirmed on the previous working day.

Please go to radiology reception.

The patient services staff will register you; you must present an identification document (ID card or passport) for verification each time you have an appointment.

If you have a health insurance card covering care in our centre, please bring it with you.

So that we can better understand your case when you come for your appointment:

On confirmation of your appointment, the fertility patient care coordinator will collect information from you over the phone prior to your appointment.

On the day of your appointment, please bring results from investigations, tests or blood analysis, and reports from any previous treatment.

Please arrive on time and go to the fertility reception desk.

You must present an identification document (ID card or passport), this is required for us to open your medical records and to be able to comply correctly with GDPR requirements.

For tests with the nursing staff (blood analysis, ECGs, antigen tests, etc.):

The medical referral for the test is essential, as well as supplementary information such as blood analysis values.

If you have health insurance which covers you in our centre, you must provide the authorisation from the company.

If your test so requires, your doctor will have previously informed you of any preparation/fasting required.

Please arrive on time for your appointment.

If your test is in the morning, go to the general medicine reception desk.
If your test is in the afternoon, please go to the main reception desk.

The patient services staff will register you; you must present an identification document (ID card or passport) for verification each time you have an appointment.

If you have a health insurance card covering healthcare in our centre for the speciality you have an appointment with, please bring it with you.

Consultas externas

 

For performance of a preoperative assessment:

Please attend your appointment on time, having had nothing to eat or drink.

Go to the general medicine reception desk so that the patient services staff can register you, you will need to present an identification document (ID card or passport).

If you have a health insurance card covering healthcare in our centre, please bring it with you.
4
If your procedure is at HC, the coordinator of the corresponding unit will have provided the relevant instructions and provided the necessary documentation for the preoperative assessment.

If you are a patient from elsewhere, you must bring the relevant referral from your doctor, or you may first ask for a consultation with an Internal General Medicine physician to request the investigations.

Usually, a preoperative assessment takes place one week prior to surgery.

It normally consists of blood analysis and an ECG, a radiological study of the chest may also be required.

The patient services team will indicate where the pre-anaesthetic consultation for a medical assessment by the anaesthetist will take place.

When you attend HC for outpatient surgery:

Please arrive at the hospital on time, having followed the preparation instructions for the investigation (fasting, medication…) as indicated by the specialist and/or the unit’s patient coordinator.

Go to the Main Reception desk so that the patient services staff can register you, you will need to present an identification document (ID or passport).
3
If you have a health insurance card that covers the surgery you are undergoing in our centre, please bring it with you.
4
If applicable, you must have the processed authorisation for surgery from your insurer.
5
The coordinator of the corresponding unit will have passed on the relevant instructions and provided the necessary documentation for the surgery to be performed.

Your doctor will also have sent you informed consent for signing prior to your operation.

The patient services team will let you know how to proceed.

When you attend HC for surgery:

Please arrive at the centre on time, having followed the preparation instructions for the test (fasting, medication…) as directed by the specialist and/or the unit’s patient care coordinator.

Go to the main reception desk so that the patient services staff can register you, you will need to present an identification document (ID card or passport).

If you have a health insurance card with coverage for your surgery in our hospital, please bring it with you.
4
If applicable, you must have the processed authorisation for surgery from your insurer.

The coordinator of the corresponding unit will have provided the relevant instructions and necessary documentation for the surgery to be performed.

Your doctor will also have sent you informed consent for signing prior to surgery.

The surgical nursing team will accompany you, advising and keeping you informed throughout the process.

We want you to feel at home. When admission is necessary, all the doctors, as well as nurses, nursing assistants, receptionists, administrative, cleaning and kitchen staff, patient services staff, etc. work hard to deliver the highest standards of care, guaranteeing your well-being during your hospital stay.

On arrival, our patient services staff will assist you with procedures, and will provide you with all the necessary information related to your stay. You must present an identification document (ID card or passport).

If you have a health insurance card which has coverage at our hospital, please bring it with you.

If applicable, you must have the processed authorisation of admission to hospital from your insurer.

If you have a registered document of prior medical instruction, please inform your doctor at the time of admission.

We would like to remind you that by law smoking is not permitted in healthcare facilities. Electronic cigarettes are also not allowed.

We advise you not to bring valuables to the hospital as the hospital cannot take responsibility for them. If this is not possible, please look after them appropriately.

Medical information – in compliance with applicable legislation, your healthcare information will only be provided to you and those people you have indicated. In the case of minors, only parents or legal guardians will be informed. Except in duly justified cases, no information will be given over the phone.

During your stay, the nursing staff, together with the medical team, will take care of you, maintaining active and effective communication, respecting your dignity and providing personal care throughout.

Companions. There are no visiting time restrictions at our hospital, we therefore request your cooperation to guarantee the well-being of all those admitted:
 

  1. Please avoid making a noise, speaking loudly, or wandering around the corridors unnecessarily.
  2. Try not to have more than two people at a time in the room.
  3. Please remember that visiting by children under the age of 12 is not recommended.
  4. We recommend that visiting does not continue after 22:00 hours to respect patients’ need for rest.
  5. One companion may stay overnight.
