He completed his medical studies at the Free University of Berlin in 1990, where he completed his PhD two years later.
He moved to the United Kingdom for his major surgical training in orthopedic surgery and completed his basic surgical training at Imperial College London. He performed Clinical Research at the St James Hospital in Leeds.
He belonged to the Community of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1997. Between 2004 and 2005 he completed a number of fellowships abroad at the North Sydney Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center, in The Calvary Hip and Knee Unit in Canberra and the First Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Florence.
In 2006 he was appointed orthopedic surgeon consultant at the St Bernard Hospital in Gibraltar where he currently works in orthopedic surgery and traumatology service.
He has an active medical-legal practice and his main specialties are the reconstruction of knee ligaments, joint replacement of knee and hip and trauma surgery.
He completed his specialized training in Traumatology and Orthopedics at Intercollegiate.
