Today, April 7, is World Health Day, an initiative promoted by the World Health Organization since 1950 and in 2017 devotes it to depression, a disease more frequent than we can imagine, that Affects more than 300 million people in the world.
It is a silent disease that has repercussions on the quality of life and, in the worst case, can lead to suicide. Although there are effective treatments, there are many patients who, at present, do not access these solutions.
▪ Persistent feelings of sadness, anxiety, pessimism or emptiness.
▪ Feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and / or impotence.
▪ Continuous irritability.
▪ Loss of interest in common activities or activities or entertainment that made you feel good.
▪ Persistent lack of energy.
▪ Problems of concentration and decision making.
▪ Changes in sleep, with problems of insomnia or excess of sleep.
▪ Binge eating or, on the contrary, losing your appetite.
▪ Continued headaches and / or stomach upset that do not react to treatment.

From HC Marbella International Hospital and specifically from the Psychology and Psychiatry Unit we want to encourage people to seek help in case they consider that they may have depression or want to help a family member or friend who may present certain symptoms.
