Dr. Belén Salvatierra, specialist in Endoscopic Nasosinusal Surgery, joins the HC ENT team.

La Dr Belén Salvatierra Vicario is a specialist in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, with a specific focus on Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. Her professional and academic career has been forged by rigorous training in nationally and internationally renowned centres and an extensive experience in the clinical, teaching and research fields.

Dr Salvatierra specialises in the management of respiratory (allergic and inflammatory) and olfactory sinonasal disorders and their surgical treatment by means of endoscopic sinus surgery. She currently performs her activity at HC Marbella and at the Costa del Sol Hospital in Marbella.

She graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Milan. In addition, she specialised in Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery at the Marqués de Valdecilla University Hospital in Santander.

Dr Belén Salvatierra Vicario has enriched her training by working at internationally renowned centres: Rhinology and Anterior Skull Base Surgery at the National Cancer Institute in Bogotá, at NYU Langone Health in New York with Dr Peak Woo, a recognised authority on laryngology and swallowing disorders; Otology and Lateral Skull Base Surgery in Italy with Master Mario Sanna and at the Valencian Institute of Oncology (IVO), where she trained in Head and Neck Cancer Surgery.

She has completed numerous subspecialisation courses: on otorhinolaryngological surgery and Temporal Bone Dissection, Facial Plastic Surgery, Blue Laser Larynx and Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. She has also expanded her expertise in lasers in laryngology in New York and in Head and Neck Surgery at the La Paz University Hospital in Madrid.

Dr Salvatierra Vicario combines her clinical experience with a strong commitment to teaching and research. She has been an associate professor of otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Cantabria in Santander and has given numerous courses on otorhinolaryngology to other medical specialists.

Highlights of her research work include publications in ENT journals and her participation in the writing of several chapters of books on her speciality. She has been awarded numerous grants and prizes.
