In the trunk of memories, I keep fresh experiences with patients cured, what joy when I evoke the healing of each case. I observe them happy with their wives, with their children or their parents walking safe on the path to a new life. They had to pay a hard price to change the course of the unexpected.
Overcoming the first diagnosis of a tumor is to assimilate that your future is in your hands. Changing behavioral habits, the routine of everyday life and begin from zero the struggle to change the course of the unexpected.
That is why many patients recognize that their approach to this type of problem changes their perception. From such an extreme situation one learns that the greatest treasure of humanity is an excellent health.
I can not forget in this tribute the chronic patients, those that we live together the daily battle with their illness.
If we analyze our beliefs, many of us still do not treat cancer as a possible chronic disease, but that is the case, we are permanent witnesses to this reality. Who would have imagined that a person with lung cancer would continue his life after 7 years of his diagnosis? There, at the foot of the canyon, as a hypertensive or the diabetic, with periods of stability and periods of relapse, but no one ever said that life is an easy thing.
The daily struggle exists, constancy must be the anvil of will, if your motivation is to live, you can win many battles, our motivation is the fuel your actions.
Here we are the oncology team of HC Marbella International Hospital to permanently support, each patient in their daily struggle against the disease of the 21st century, cancer.
And every day that dawns, each of you, teaches us to live with fullness and joy.
The first time you came into my office I had the feeling that I was going to be able to help you, alleviate your illness and who knows if I could cure you. I do not know if I managed to achieve the first two premises, because the third was obviously far from my professional field, but I believed for at least a few moments and that allowed me to fight side by side with you.
You came hounded by your fears, gripped by your sufferings, submerged in a sea of doubts and I tried, and God knows that I tried with all my knowledge, to help you overcome these circumstances.
Today you rest in the silence of time with no return. And this has made me reflect, that the one who has really helped the other, was you, with your love for life and your desire to live, with your courage, with your faith in me as an oncologist and person, with your courage before the news that clouded your future, and the serene rebellion to abandon the fight prematurely, remaining in the battle until the last moment.
Today, your farewell hurts me, and I only wish that wherever you are, I hope you understand my feelings and my sorrow.
Goodbye my friend and thank you for giving me strength to keep up the desire to live and continue my daily struggle in this blessed profession.
