Colonoscopy

Diagnostic Colonoscopy and Ileoscopy:

▪ Diagnosis of diseases affecting the distal ileum, colon and rectum (Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, polyps, cancer of the colon and rectum, diverticula, haemorrhoids, anal fissure, endometriosis, megacolon).
▪ Observation of and follow up of relatives of patients with cancer of the colon or rectum.
▪ Observation and follow up of patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn’s disease, Ulcerative Colitis).

Therapeutic Colonoscopy:

▪ Endoscopic treatment of Lower Gastrointestinal Bleeding.
▪ Polypectomy.
▪ Endoscopic treatment of intestinal pseudo-obstruction.
▪ Endoscopic treatment with argon of vascular injuries to the colon and rectum (angiodysplasia, post-radiation injuries).
▪ Treatment of rectal stenosis following surgery and radiation.
