Chin augmentation

Mentoplasty is one of the most frequently performed facial surgical techniques and it results in great satisfaction for the patient since the increase in the size of the chin harmonises the face and gives it a more youthful appearance by creating the balance that makes the face more beautiful. With this surgical technique, we modify the chin bone structure in the case of a reduction, or we insert an implant in the case of an augmentation. In either case, the result is a more harmonious face.

An underdeveloped chin gives the face a flat and aged appearance. Replacing the volume in this area brings more balance to the face and makes it more beautiful.

Surgical technique:

Generally, a mentoplasty lasts 30 to 45 minutes. You have two insertion options. One is through a small incision made inside the mouth, and the other is through an incision under the chin. A pocket is made underneath the bone lining of the chin, and then the incision is stitched closed. It is not necessary to have the stitches removed.

Recovery is fast—you can return to your normal life routine three days after surgery. You may experience a feeling of tightness and there may be some light swelling for a few more days.
