Skin lesion removal

The excision of skin lesions is a common procedure where the main objective is to minimise the resulting scar as much as possible.

In order to do this, we offer the highest safety guarantees at the hands of experienced specialists, along with our fully equipped operating theatres.

The surgical method used to eradicate a skin lesion can be one of several:

Coagulation

This eliminates the injury by applying a high frequency electric current in order to destroy it.

Tangential excision

This procedure consists of performing a “shave” of the lesion tangentially to the skin.

Circular excision

A circular cut is made around the lesion and the resulting hole is sutured shut.

Fusiform excision

This method is one of the most commonly used in plastic surgery in order to completely excise a skin lesion. The goal is to carry out a complete resection in the form of a linear scar.

Excision that requires plasty or grafting

These surgical techniques are used with major resections or excisions that are located in particularly sensitive areas of the body, where the openings cannot be corrected properly with the above procedures.
