In recent years it has become common for multidisciplinary oncology teams to include a pharmacist whose role is to carry out research and create drug-therapy programs. The presence of a pharmacology professional in the Hospital increases the safety of treatments by preventing adverse reactions, interactions or errors. It also contributes to the integration and consolidation of innovative initiatives that present an added benefit to the other health professionals and to the patient.

For process in the therapeutic chain there are multiple check points, which increases the quality and safety of the care of cancer patients by having alerts and an expert system and controls, which reduces the possibility of errors in medication via omission or commission that are inherent to these processes.
