Early detection of lung cancer

Within our Oncology Unit we offer a programme for the early detection of lung cancer. This tumour is the leading cause of death from cancer in men and the second in women. Risk increases with age and with tobacco consumption.

 

Medical studies have shown that the use of chest CT scans enables the early detection of 85% of lung cancers at a curable stage.

 

In addition, medical specialists at HC Marbella state that “the test is highly recommended for asymptomatic smokers starting at age of 35”.

 

Our Programme for the prevention of lung cancer includes:

▪ Consultation, where a clinical history is taken regarding habits and family medical history, and a physical examination is given.

▪ Spirometry

▪ Chest CT scan
