Clinical Neurophysiology is a medical specialty which studies how the central and peripheral nervous systems work. There are a series of tests which assess these functions.
This unit is involved in the diagnosis and treatment of multiple diseases affecting the central nervous system and the neuromuscular system. It receives requests for studies from most medical-surgical specialties, particularly neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry and orthopaedic and trauma surgery. The unit works with patients of all ages and uses non-invasive or minimally invasive testing methods. Preparation prior to testing is not required except in very few occasions.
