The area of Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery includes the prevention, diagnosis, surgical and non-surgical treatment and monitoring of all conditions of the musculoskeletal system and its associated structures (bones, joints, ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves).

Our Orthopaedic Department was conceived, designed and developed to treat orthopaedic conditions, from pain relief to prosthesis replacement, including physiotherapy and many other techniques to support recovery and rehabilitation.

Our facilities include the following:
 

• Outpatient Department.
• Inpatient treatment.
• 4 operating rooms with the latest technology, 3 for GROUP I normal surgery and 1 for GROUP II special surgery. Maximum security is guaranteed through the so called laminar flow systems and the type A controlled environment room, which allows complex surgeries to be performed minimizing the risk of infections.
• 1 endoscopy room.
• 7 URPA posts for post-surgical surveillance.
• Treatment and Plaster Room.
• Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy Department.

• Trauma: rupture and injuries of tendons, ligaments and the meniscus.

• Childhood orthopaedic conditions, congenital conditions and developmental problems of the musculoskeletal system: hip dysplasia, scoliosis, congenital deformities of the foot and hand, limb length discrepancies, gait disorders.
