Biography
Dr. José Manuel Trigo (January 28, 1966, Málaga, Spain) is a Medical Oncologist. Medical Degree in Medicine and Surgery, University of Malaga 1990. Specialist in Medical Oncology, 1996.
After graduating in Medicine and Surgery, he obtained his specialisation in Medical Oncology at the University Hospital Doce de Octubre in Madrid, in 1996.
He later worked as a Fellow at the Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research in London, UK from 1997 to 1999, thanks to a research grant from the European Society of Medical Oncology (ESMO) for the development of new anti-tumour drugs.
Afterwards, he worked as a Medical Oncology Consultant at the Vall d`Hebron University Hospital in Barcelona from 2000 to 2003, leading the Phase I Trials Unit and focusing on breast cancer treatment and research.
From 2004 to August 2021, Dr. José M. Trigo has worked as a Consultant at the Department of Medical Oncology at Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital, where he has been in charge of the Thoracic and ENT Tumour Unit, and Director of the Phase I Trials Unit for the development of new drugs.
